Pruning Needs: Very light pruning in the fall.

Notes: This is one of the few times a photo is not at one of my sites. This is in a commercial area of Burlingame. They have been there for three and they look really great considering the abuse from the foot traffic and the questionable care they get from the city. By the way the flowering crimson in the background is Anigozanthos Hybrida (Kangaroo Paw)
April - Star "Drift" Carpet Rose

Water Requirements: Somewhat drought tolerant
Best Initial Size to Plant: 1 or 2 gal.
Mature Plant Size: 24” wide x 24" deep x 15"-18" tall
Flowering Period: April-October
Pruning Needs: Significantly cut back in the fall. Deadhead to increase blooms somewhat self-deadheading.

Notes: By far the easiest carpet rose to control. Compact with very dense growth, exceptional bloom production. A great plant for smaller borders. Has some nasty thorns which make it a great anti-doggy bomb plant.
