Stanford Community Day

Stanford University

Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital

February 2018

We were invited to conduct a presentation on “How to Grow Healthy Vegetables” to Stanford’s Annual Community Day for pediatric cardiac patients. The children were excited to learn and take their plants home to harvest later this year. We’ve already been asked to participate again next year.

Proven Winners Roadshow

Matsuda’s Nursery, Sacramento, CA

February 2018

Proven Winners hosted an event at a major California grower for 120 contractors and landscape designers. I delivered the keynote speech on the topic of “How and Why to Use Proven Winners Innovative Plants in Your Landscape Projects.” It was great to have an enthusiastic response from the audience.

American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Show

Los Angeles Convention Center

October 2017

I was honored to present my work at the ASLA Show in the Proven Winners booth. It was interesting talking with architects from around the country. They especially enjoyed seeing how I design with a San Francisco Bay Area flair. At the event, I was also interviewed by Garden Design Magazine, and the video is below.

San Francisco Flower Show

San Mateo Expo Convention Center

2011 & 2012

This show is the most attended landscaping show in California and was once considered to be one of the most prestigious landscape design completions in the country.  Just imagine in five days to produce a 1500 sq. ft. display with over twenty major trees, an ironwood deck and running spa.  It also had over 1,000 other plants, with over 100 blooming orchids.  Highlighted by three custom made water features, fineart, outdoor lighting and many masonry features.

Pacific Orchid Exhibition

Fort Mason Center, San Francisco

2005-2014

At this show we get to have a little fun and do things that are just beautiful, and not worry about them being practical.  Over the years we have worked with many themes, but the one constant is being able to design with over 500 booming orchids which is a total thrill.

Penisula / Santa Clara

Home & Garden Show

San Mateo Event Center:

1999-2012

Santa Clara Convention Center:

2007-2011

This was our "centerpiece" garden show, which we have done for many years.  We always design a display which had a great deal of structural interest while still being a lush, inviting place to spend time in.  These were great events because we had a chance to interact with the public which was very fun and insightful.
